Pre-K 3/4 October 31st Newsletter

Happy Friday Families!
Here is what we did in Pre-K 3/4 this week!

Looking back…

  • We focused on learning about Halloween!
  • We learned about the letters F and B, as well as writing numbers 1-3.
  • We learned that God gave us eyes to see. We also learned that God talks to us. We have also continued to practice the sign of the cross!
  • We continued to verbally blend and segment 2 syllable words. (Blending rain-ing turns into raining. Segmenting raining turns into rain-ing.)

MARK YOUR CALENDAR…
Tuesday, November 4th – D4D McDonald’s McTeacher Night (Countryside) 4-6pm
Wednesday, November 5th – Picture Retake Day (news students and those who missed picture day will have their picture taken too)
Friday, November 7th – NO SCHOOL – Vendor Fair 5:30-8:00pm (Parish Center)
Monday, November 10th – Mrs. Field’s Cookie Orders Due
Tuesday, November 25th – 11:30 Dismissal (No Aftercare) – Parent Teacher Conferences 12:30-8pm
Wednesday, November 26th – Friday, November 28th – No School (Thanksgiving Break)

REMINDERS…

  • Please check your child’s folder daily, especially Wednesdays.
  • If you would like to volunteer throughout the year, please get your VIRTUS training completed. All of our volunteers MUST be VIRTUS trained.

Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About…
Below are some suggestions to engage your child in a conversation about what they did at school

  • What colors are on a candy corn? (yellow, orange, white)
  • What sound does f make? What sound does b make? (f says /f/ and b says /b/)
  • What do we use our eyes for? (seeing) What are some colors you see around you? Practice the sign of the cross at home.
  • Practice writing numbers 1-3.
  • Continue to practice spelling and tracing/writing your child’s first name.

Have a great weekend!
