Our theme this week was winter and snow! The weather certainly supported our theme:) Still, our three-day week was a busy one. Our snowman show-and-tell was the highlight of the week. The snowmen and snowwomen were even more creative than our disguised turkeys! It was amazing to see the growth in students’ speaking ability and vocabulary as they explained how they created these projects at home! I was so proud to see the difference between this show-and-tell activity and our turkey project. Thanks to all the families who participated in this project. If you haven’t done so and wish to make a snowman, please feel free to bring it to school next week. I hope you enjoyed making them as much as we enjoyed sharing them! These creations will be proudly displayed for our Open House. We hope you will attend! We focused on the letter “Ll” and made light bulbs for our learning line. Last week we celebrated our late December birthday. Happy Birthday to Bobby and thanks for the delicious cupcakes. After next week we will be half-way through the alphabet. I completed informal first semester assessments to guide us through our second semester learning. I am excited to see what the second half of the school year will bring:)
Please read the message below from Principal Porod:

At the meeting we will discuss the progress that students have made in their Spanish Class this year and the options for next year: Regular English Track, Junior Kindergarten, and Dual Language Immersion Track in Spanish and English.

On Friday, each child received an e-learning packet in their folder. This is to be used any time we need to do e-learning at home. There is enough work for five days. Please keep this in a safe place in case that situation arises.
