Second-2-None: Weeks of 2/26 – 3/11

In religion, we have finished talking about the first main part of Mass, which is the Liturgy of the Word. We’ve broken it down into its parts and will review it over the next few weeks, multiple times. We have moved on to the Liturgy of the Eucharist, having just begun discussing what it is. Over the next couple of weeks, we will focus on the many steps with the Liturgy of the Eucharist. After much review, there will be a test on all the parts of the Mass. We will be wrapping up Growing with God the week of March 18. Then, we will return our focus on Fridays to Second Step.

In Math, we have finished our study of money and time. The next two chapters focus on measurement. First, we will look at standard units of measurements. Then in the next chapter, we will look at the metric system.

In Language Arts, we have looked at spelling words with -tion, -ture, and /ea/ spellings. We’ve looked at compound words, synonyms, and antonyms. The class also finished up all their poems and a review of adjectives that describe each other. (I hope everyone enjoyed reading the poems and silhouettes during Parent-Teacher Conferences.) In Reading, we finished reading our different stories, while discussing figurative language, sequence of events, and cause/effect.

We have delved into our study of goods and services. Within this unit of social studies, we also look at income, savings, and spending. We talk about tax and what we can do with our money. We will finish this unit before Easter break with the test. After the break, we will return to Science once again.
