Update 12/6

Hello Cardinal Families!

We are gearing up toward our Christmas show, and the students are sounding amazing! Meanwhile, in classes we are getting prepared for our Battle of the Books, which is held on Thursday, December 19th during the school day. We have finished “Holes” in 7th grade, and are in the middle of reading a analyzing Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” In 8th grade, we finished Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None,” and are already halfway through George Orwell’s “Animal Farm”! The 8th graders have been given a creative writing assignment where they must create a literary allegory using a historical period and animal characters.

In 7th grade Social Studies, we are planning an imaginary field trip to the Museum of National Archives in Washington D.C., where students must pick 5 different exhibits to visit, and they must give a description of what we will learn there, all leading up to the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights.

All 7th grade work for this week was on Google Classroom, so any makeup work is available there.

I hope your families enjoy the holiday season! Break will be here before we know it!
