We have concluded our second week of school. Students have easily eased back in to school.
Math: There will be a quiz on add/subt integers next wednesday. Students worked on a practice quiz today. This is an excellent resource for review. In addition, students received their September packet. I coincided the packet with our lesson so students get lots of practice solving add/subt integers. Please remind your student not to use a calculator. Solve these questions using mental math! We have also been doing morning work in Simple Solutions–we have completed through Lesson 7. We will also have a Simple Solutions quiz next Friday on the 10 lessons thus far. More information to come.
Religion: We went to mass on Tuesday and Mass of the Holy Spirit on Wednesday. We completed a Catholic Identity retreat.
On Monday the students will be asked to journal aboiut the Bible passage–“No one to the Father except through me. If you know me then you will also know my father. From now on you do know him and have seen him (John 14 6-7).
I am hoping the students spend some time thinking about this passage and what it means to them especially in the context of learning about scripture and tradition in Catholic faith.
We will be hanging with our Preschool buddies next week and attending a pep rally with them promoting positive behavior in school!
Have a wonderful long weekend!
P.S. Don’t forget to get forms in for Grandfriends Day, mums orders, and raffle tix!
