¡Bienvenido Otoño! 09/15/25 – 09/19/25

Class Newsletter – Week of September 15–19, 2025
What We Did This Week
This past week we continued our work with vowels, adding new words to our Word Wall and practicing recognizing and writing words that begin with vowels (Oso, Oruga, Óvalo, etc.). We also created a fun craft to go along with the vowel O (Oso).
Students practiced writing their names using both capital and lowercase letters.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we learned about Mexican Independence Day (September 15). To celebrate, students wore festive colors—green, red, and white! On this special day, we also reviewed making “Verde” (green) choices and avoiding “Rojas” (red) choices—what a perfect moment to connect learning with celebration!
During story time, we read our Book of the Week. After reading, we discussed the story and also reviewed the parts of a book in Spanish: la portada (cover), la contraportada (back cover), el lomo (spine), el título (title), and el ilustrador (illustrator).
We continued practicing our numbers identifying them and practicing how to write them.
Looking Ahead
  • This week, we will wrap up the vowel U and begin working with the letter M.
