Hola, octubre!

🍁 Hello, October! 🍂

We’ve had such a wonderful start to the month! The students have been busy learning, exploring, and growing together in so many ways. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to in class:

✏️ Literacy & Reading
We wrapped up our study of the letter M and began discussing our read-aloud books. Students have been learning to identify the author, illustrator, main characters, setting, and even the conflict in each story. It’s exciting to see them think more deeply about what they read!

Religion
During Religion, we started group discussions about the message shared at Mass. Each student had the chance to share what they personally think the message meant and how they can apply it in their own lives. It’s been beautiful to hear their thoughtful and kind reflections.

🔢 Math
We tried a new method for math centers, and it was a hit! Students had so much fun learning about greater than and less than, and we began working with ten frames. Their excitement and engagement have been amazing to see!

✍️ Writing & Word Work
We are continuing to practice writing our first and last names (remember—capital letters at the beginning!). We’ve also started recognizing and writing some of our Word Wall words, which grow each week. At the end of every week, we review to make sure those new words are sticking!

🔤 Phonics Fun
Phonics continues to hold the #1 spot for favorite activity in our classroom! It’s short, interactive, and full of energy—and now Ms. Sonia has a new set of hands (literally!) to help keep everyone engaged. Be sure to ask your child what kind of hands Ms. Sonia uses!
