Hi there my wonderful families!,
Math: Homework has been coming from the Into Math homework/practice book! It will be shared on ClassDojo what the math homework is for that night each day!
The next day, I will be checking their work! Please ensure that your child is completing their work:) We have just finished module 5 this week and when we come back from break, we will be starting Module 6!
Wilson: We have been hard at work with our Wilson program. We have been cruising through Unit 5, and have finished taking our test! Then when we come back from break, we will begin Unit 6! 🙂
Spelling: We will continue the week after break due to it being a shortened week when we get back! Thank you for understanding!!! 🙂
Social Studies: We have been hard at work with Social Studies! The kids have been able to learn and talk about different cultures, traditions, and beliefs that people do! We have learned about the different types of jobs and how those differ from volunteering. We have talked about connections within pictures and their vocabulary meaning/terms! We will continue talking about this and another whole unit when we get back from break! 🙂
Religion: In religion, we have been hard at work talking about God’s love and how important it is! We have been discussing with each other how Jesus had many followers because he invited them to join him! How the followers of Jesus did not know before they joined him that he was the Son of God! That Jesus showed all of his new followers how to pray and that connects to how we say the Lord’s prayer! We also have been talking about how/why we would want to be followers of Jesus Christ, and they why! 🙂 We have also been discussing how Christmas is Jesus’ birth and how it is truly just so important to remember that Christmas is not just about the presents.
Science: We have been discussing every single day during morning meeting, the weather! With the seasons changing, we talk about what it looks like and feels like outside! It has been a big discussion about the cold and the snow! We built on our knowledge of seasons and adaptations, hoping to build on our scientific terms and bring in into the classroom discussion more and more! 🙂
Reading: We have been noticing on how in stories–they do start with capital letters, finger spacing, and punctuation! We are also still very grateful to have Storytime with our volunteering librarian (Mrs. Flood) on Thursday’s as well! We have been working hard with our comprehension (remembering what is going on/happening throughout the story!)
Once again, if you are interested in being a Mystery Guest Reader, please just let me know! 🙂
**Star Student will continue on the week after break! 🙂
And as always, I am so grateful to have your child in my 1st grade classroom with me! 🙂
