Tales From Third Grade: January 12th to 16th

We will be doing the second iReady Math Diagnostic Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.  Please be sure to encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep and eat a GREAT breakfast before coming to school.  We will be starting testing at 10:30 on Tuesday morning and then at 9:00 on Wednesday.  P! L! E! A! S! E!  be sure to have your child to school on time!!!

Important Dates to Remember for the week:

Tuesday January 20th: – iReady testing- Please make sure students get a good nights rest and eats a big breakfast!  We will be testing after Mass and specials.  Please be on time for Mass.  Prayer will be recited.   Poems will be presented today.

Wednesday January 21st:  -iReady testing Math – Please make sure students get a good nights rest and eats a big breakfast!  We will be testing in the morning.  

Friday, January 23rd:  Biography Book Reports are due.  Please be sure that the posters are creatively completed and brought to school.  These projects will be on display for open house.  The students will begin presenting them on Monday January 26th.

Sunday January 25th:  Catholic schools week begins! – Join us for Mass at 10:30am. Open house to follow. More info to come.

Monthly Project Due Dates

New Monthly Project:  SUPER simple I promise.  Each month the students will be asked to bring in their (School appropriate) picture to display on our class room family board.  The January picture should be one of them with their favorite Christmas present.

January Book Report:  Biography.  Students should think about a person (sports, actor, etc . . .) that they would like to learn more about and find a chapter book to read.  A FANTASTIC series to look at is “WHO WAS . . .”   

January Poems:  Poems will be presented on the January 20th.

January Prayer:  Prayers will be recited on Friday 16th.

My name is Lisa Gearen. I started teaching at St. Cletus in 2003. I taught first grade for 14 years and now teach 3rd. I have a bachelors degree in Communication and a Masters in Elementary Education. I received both degrees from Concordia University.
