Hello families of my first grade friends, 🙂
I cannot believe it is already October, where did the time go? We are having loads of fun here in first grade! We have been learning about using ten frames and other tips to help us get to our answer in addition! Starting next week, we will be going into a deeper dive of subtraction!
The kids have been hard at work with Fundations (Our reading program) and have completed their Unit 1 Test! We have been taking our time rather than rushing to get our tests down to ensure we are growing and soaring before moving on fully!!!
The students have been learning about routines and rewards/consequences in social studies! They have been talking about morning routines and how we get to school is specific! We also talked and shared about how if you do something good, you may get rewarded for it! However, if you do something bad, you could have a consequence!
In science, we have began talking about data and how we can collect it! We wrote everyone’s birthdays on an anchor chart and collected how many people have the same birthday month and how it looks very different!
In Religion, we have been talking about the Blessed Holy Trinity. We talk a lot about how God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are collected into this and how it connects back into our own lives!
Just one quick announcement! Homework has been sent home more and more, please ensure that your child is doing it and bringing it back to school!
Thank you for all you do and once again, I am so happy to have your child in my first grade class EVER!
Sincerely,
Miss M. <3
