Please be sure that your child eats a good breakfast each morning before coming to school they need the energy to stay focused. Also remember to send in healthy snacks to enjoy during snack time.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our Valentine Day Party happen. Thank you to Carina, Evan and Dominic’s moms for coming in and running the games, craft and cookie decorating stations. The kids had a great time and we appreciate everything that was done to make it happen.

February Poems will be presented this Wednesday February 19th: This week help your child find a prop or simple costume to use with their poem presentation on Wednesday.

Here’s what we will be doing in class this week:
Religion: This week the class will continue learning how Jesus chose his Apostles to lead the Church. We will talk about the fact that that the Pope and bishops are the successors of the Apostles. As we learn about the jobs that the Apostles had and that the Pope and Bishops now do, we will learn about the four marks of the Church: ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC and APOSTOLIC.
Math: This module will help us see that Division and Multiplication are related. We will practice Multiplying and dividing with 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 as factors and divisors.
Social Studies: We will learn the difference between: weather and climate. The students will pick a state to learn about it’s weather, climate, landforms, ecosystem, region, and physical environment.
Reading; During the week the class will be working on their comprehension skills as read the iReady story “Zel the Gentle Donkey” The students will define unfamiliar words using context clues. They will also answer questions centered around short passages read as a whole class and independently.
Phonics: The students will review the adjacent vowel rule as they work with these vowel pairs ai, ay, ea, ee, ie, oa, oe and ue.
Spelling: The students will work with words that contain the long sound of O when it is spelled with an aw or o.
