Tales from Third Grade May 25th

Hello Everyone!!

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather this long weekend.

Thank you Ms. Delaney for helping us plant the flowers in the pots that are at the front of the school  on Friday May 22nd.  We had such a great time with you.  Thanks also to Mrs Hogan for helping us with the lady bugs, flowers, frogs and smiley faces that were painted on the pots.

The class voted to wear LIGHT BLUE for field day on June 3rd.  Please let me know if it is OK for your child to have their friends sign their LIGHT BLUE shirts.  If possible send a permanent marker (any color is fine as long as it is dark enough to show up on LIGHT BLUE) to school with your child as well.  These markers will be sent home with your child.

During the next two weeks, we will be busy with end of the year activities.  The calendar of events has us:

Monday May 25th:  No School Celebrating Memorial day as we honor the veterans in our lives.  Studying for the LAST spelling test of the school year.  The new list went home of Friday.  Completing Math SS Lesson 133

Tuesday May 26th:  Attending 8:00am Mass.  Please join us if your schedule allows.  Presenting our May Poems.  Please remember to help your child find a SIMPLE costume that they can easily put on and take off, simple props and movements for their presentations.  The student have done an AMAZING job presenting poems this year.  I am so proud of all of them.

Wednesday May 27th:  We will complete the May Poems presentations today.

Friday May 29th:  $1.00 Purple Dress Down Day for The Violet Foundation.  Today is the LAST day the students will be taking Spelling Test both List and Standardized as well as the Math SS Quizzes.

Monday June 1st:  Attending  8th Grade Award Ceremony.

Tuesday June 2nd:  Attending 8:00 am Mass and then clapping out our GRADUATING 8th Graders.  If you have an 8th grader please come and help us clap them out.

Wednesday June 3rd:  FIELD DAY!!!!!!!!  Please be sure to pack a water bottle for your child.  If possible put the water bottle  1/2 filled in the freezer overnight and then in the morning fill it up the rest of the way.  This helps the student have cold water all day long.  Please be sure that your child’s name is clearly written on their water bottle.  Please also be sure to put sun screen on your child in the morning.

Thursday June 4th:  LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!  Where did the year go?  So many fun things have happened.  Thank you all for your help and support through the year.  I have enjoyed working with and getting to know this GREAT group of kids and their parents.  Please come to Mass at 9:30.  We will be dismissing the students at 11:30.  The students will be given their report cards along with their iReady diagnostic results.  Today the students are welcome to DRESS UP.  Girls if you are wearing a bare shoulder dress that you also wear a sweater.  After school there will be a KONA truck in the parking lot please stop by and bring an ICY treat home to kick off the summer.
