What we will be working on:
- Writing: The students will begin to reflect upon their 4th grade year and write letters to the future 4th graders about all the things that they will learn and be able to do!
- Religion: We will wrap up our discussion about the 8th commandment and begin discussions about 9 and 10.
- Science: We will continue to learn about erosion and compile a list of things that we have seen in nature. Make sure to ask your child about how powerful wind and water really are!
- Math: We will wrap up the unit of adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators and end the year with symmetry.
- Spelling: Next week, May 19th, we will have our final Spelling Test of the year. The class will be challenged to words that they have seen all year, Months of the year and Days of the week.
- Social Studies: We have wrapped up the final US Region and the students will be challenged to a quiz on ALL 50 States and Capitals. Those that get a 100% will receive a special prize. They are able to retake this as many times as needed to achieve their goal!
A few reminders:
Test Corrections: While test corrections are not mandatory, they are highly encouraged to do if the score is below 90%. Each corrected problem is able to gain back ½ of the point value. For corrections, they should be done on a separate sheet of paper, not written on the original test. From the day the test is given back, the students only have two days to make their corrections. Anything past this will not be accepted. (Unless your student was absent). ALL CORRECTIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN JUNE 2ND!
Mass: We will be attending 8am Mass each Tuesday. Students should be dropped off at their regular drop off points and head into the classroom. School doors will open at 7:45 am to allow students time to put away their belongings and head to the church as a class. Students arriving late should head straight to church.
