Bienvenido Enero 2026

Welcome Back DLI Families,

We are so excited to start the second half of the school year! We are also more excited to see the big progress that your students will do this year. We came back and got back to business. We first began the week by celebrating 3 Kings day (Dia de Los Reyes) by having Rosca (Epiphany Bread) and milk with our Traditional K and DLI K friends. Secondly, we reviewed the letter from the week we left for break, Letra L and we also began a new letter this week which is letra LL (double L) and its sound with las vocales. Every morning we practice our letter of the week in our calendar time and include our zoophonics hand movements so that it becomes easier for our students to understand the sound each letter makes. We have also started practicing our zoophonics in mixed form, our flashcards are no longer in order. Our class prayer (that we practice when we arrive and before we leave) is still Hail Mary in Spanish.

We have also enjoyed some of the sun outside during recess and we are using sidewalk chalk! We continue to share our family projects in class and our littles love talking about who each family member is. They also love showing us all their pictures! Thank you all for taking the time to participate and support your child in each and every project we do in class.

One of our favorite centers this week has been the math center with Mrs. Perez because our students get to use the 10 frames to understand quantities to a number. We also get to use small Valentine’s / heart shaped erasers.

Congrats to our Cardinal Raffle winners : Naima and Ben!

We are also Crazy about 67 here at ST CLETUS 🙂
