Dear Families,
This week in Pre-K 4 DLI, we wrapped up our last vowel — la Uu! 🎉 We learned some fun new words that begin with U, like Ursula Urraca from Zoo-Phonics and unicornio. Stay tuned for more exciting Uu activities coming soon!
In Heggerty, we’ve been practicing rhyming words and combining syllables to make new words , for example, ca–sa is casa! The children are doing a great job listening for sounds and building their phonological awareness.
We also learned a new nursery rhyme, “Naranja Dulce,” which quickly became a class favorite! Of course, “La Lechuza” is still at the top of our list — we love singing it together. 🎶
During reading time, we continue to strengthen our early literacy skills. We now know that the front cover of a book is called the portada and the back cover is the contraportada. We’ve been talking about our favorite parts of each story and sharing what we notice as we read, amazing conversations are happening!
Each day, we also take time to practice “El Padre Nuestro” as part of our morning routine. The children are doing a wonderful job learning and reciting this prayer with care and reverence. 🙏
Another part of our daily routine that we love is calendar time. We have so many favorite songs that help us practice numbers, colors, days of the week, and months of the year, it’s such a fun way to learn!
Thank you for your continued support and for sharing your children’s excitement for learning each day.
Warmly,
Ms. Nieves and Mrs. Perez
