Happy December, Parents! It’s hard to believe that the Holidays are here. Let’s see what we have been working on in first grade.
In Spelling, we are on Unit 13. We’re learning how to spell words with different patterns, and we continue to practice them daily. In handwriting, we are on letter “N.” In Reading, we are going to be presenting weekly book reports. We LOVE to read aloud to the class, so this should be fun and exciting! We are working on reading “A Fine, Fine School” and “The Recess Queen.”
In Language Arts, we are steadily learning all the parts of a sentence. We are also working on paragraph writing.
We love math class, especially with the addition of our math coach, Mrs. Jarka! She helps us to understand math concepts better, and makes math more challenging.
We do IREADY twice a week, and we love it! It gives us a chance to work silently and follow our own path.
