What a Wonderful Week!
This week, we dove into the letter Bb, practiced the number 4, and explored rectangles! The kids loved reading La Historia de un Rectángulo, and they’re doing great with it. We’ve also been practicing our Ave Maria (Hail Mary) prayer together.
We’ve been speaking lots of Spanish, and through our daily morning routine, the students are getting the hang of greeting and introducing themselves. Each morning, after singing our Buenos Días song, I say, “¡Hola, buenos días! Me llamo Ms. Nieves. ¿Cómo te llamas tú?” I get responses like, “Yo me llamo Frankie A” or “Yo me llamo Michael.”
We’ve also been practicing counting in Spanish, and we read Cuenta con Dr. Seuss 123. Olive especially loves this book and can even predict the next number as we read!
To wrap up the week, we met with our buddies, and the students had a blast! The buddies helped us start on next week’s craft, and we can’t wait to share it with you. We’ve also been busy decorating our classroom door. The students were so excited to see it, and we hope it brings a smile to your face too!
Looking Ahead:
Next week, we’ll continue expanding our Spanish vocabulary with stories and keep practicing our counting skills. We’ll focus on the letter C and learn all about ovals (óvalos).
A Few Reminders:
- Our “Disguise a Ghost” project is due October 21st! It’s a fun, creative activity for the kids to enjoy at home.
- No school on Monday, October 14th… See you all on Tuesday!
