First Grade Fun

Good morning, parents! Happy New Year! We are into the second trimester and working hard.
The first graders are doing a habitat project at home, due January 25th. They can pick between 6 different habitats to make, and present to the class. The children were so interested in doing this project after reading a story in Superkids. I can’t wait to see how they turn out!
Registration and re-enrollment has already started for the 2024-2025 school year. St. Cletus is a wonderful school, and we would like to see everyone back again next year. If you have any friends or neighbors that are looking for a great school, don’t forget to mention St. Cletus.
We are finishing Book 5 in math, working with fact families and related facts. Superkids is keeping us very busy, but we are learning so much. There are so many good aspects to this program, and it’s evident the children are enjoying it. We are learning about the “Holy Spirit” in Religion, and how lucky we are to have him in our life.
In Language Arts we are studying Adjectives. We are writing a story about a monster, using many different adjectives. In Science, we are studying plants and plant parts. It’s always so much to learn new things.

Our Walk-A-Thon at St. Cletus is April 12, 2024.  A page entitled “Laps for Laughs” is coming home today and it talks about setting up your family’s fundraising page.  Please take a look at it.  If the whole school participates in this by February 1, there will be an all school surprise!!  Let’s do this!

This Monday, February 15, we will not be in school in remembrance of Martin Luther King.  Enjoy this day with your family.
