First Grade Learning and Fun!

Hi there families!,

First grade has been eventful and very busy!!!

Math: Math workbooks have been sent home. Each day when homework is assigned, it will be coming from that Into Math book! The next day, I will be checking their work! Please ensure that your child is completing their work:)

Wilson: We wrapped up our Unit 1 and Unit 2 Test within these past few weeks! We have started unit 3 and will be working through that! We will be continuing with Unit 3 until it is time for that Unit 3 test!

Spelling: These tests will be given every Friday. New lists will be sent home each week. We did do one test today because it has been these words that we have done through our Wilson program!

I will email the list as well but this coming week’s words are Chat, Dash, Math, Chop, Neck, and Sock. Please practice saying and spelling the words. Focusing on uppercase and lowercase letters!

Social Studies: We have been continuing through our consequences versus rewards discussion! This coming week, we will be talking about roles in the community and jobs in the government!

Science: We learned about the differences and the similarities with the Moon, Sun, and the Stars! We used a Venn Diagram and watched a very fun video from Generation Science (Our Science Program!)

Reading: We have been reading different types of books talking through emotions and what happens through the book in our own words! **This coming week, we will be able to have Storytime with our volunteering librarian on Thursday’s! I am looking forward to it!

I am hoping to get Mystery Guest Readers going as soon as possible! If you are interested, please just let me know!

And as always, I am so grateful to have your child in my 1st grade classroom with me!

Thank you so very much for all you do,

Miss M.
