JK Newsletter December 5th, 2025

It was so great to see you all at Parent Teachers Conferences!

Thanksgiving came and went so fast, and now we are in December and preparing for Jesus’ Birthday.

It  has been such a fun week with your children! We have been having Gingerbread fun all week, along with playing in the snow at recess.  I love SNOW and the outdoors, so this is fun for me. Some may say 22  kids in snow clothes can be a bit much to tackle , but I thank Mrs. Jacobs for embracing my wild ideas, and all her help and patience in helping make this happen daily.  I  feel like we have more snow now then we had all last winter.  My plan for your kids is to play in it every chance we get at recess as long as the snow lasts and its above 20 degrees.  Snow clothes will go home on Friday unless you have told us differently.  Please bring back on Monday!

We have been busy practicing for our Christmas Play which is December 17th @9:30.  We are so EXCITED. Please have your children come in their Christmas “BEST” dress outfits for the performance.

Advent is our focus for the month of December.  On Monday,  your children brought home a sheet with good deeds.   Hopefully your children are helping with Good Deeds and Daily acts of Kindness at home each day is a way of preparing their hearts for Jesus.  This can be as simple as setting the table, making a bed, clearing the table, helping a sibling, etc .  Your kids have big hearts, and love to be helpful.

Each day we gather as a class around His Manger.  We call each student to to tell their good deed. (OR, if they don’t have one they say,” I will do one later today and let you know tomorrow”.)  After they tell us the good deed, they add  a piece of yellow “straw” in the Manger to make the crib cozy for Baby Jesus on His Birthday.

Questions for your children:

  • What Saint are we celebrating this weekend? (St. Nicholas)
  • Did you add a piece of straw to the manger?
  • Who was the door holder this week?

Literacy:  Jolly Phonics will be learning the letter sound and motion for “F” and “B” this week.

Math: We will be counting, sorting, graphing , and making tally marks at calendar and in centers.

Science: Using magnets at our sensory table this month with lots of Christmas bells, and magna tiles.

Have a great weekend!
