JK newsletter December 9th

We hope this email finds you well and into the holiday spirit! These children have been working very hard on their “good deeds” and on the upcoming Christmas performance!

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Tuesday is our all school mass at 9:30 for Our Lady of Guadalupe. We love to see our Grown ups there if you are able to sneak away!
  • December 20th is our Christmas performance at 9:30. Please dress your children in their Christmas clothes.

We like to play outside everyday! Please make sure your children are dressed for it with hats and gloves.

Religion: Next week brings us to week 3 of Advent (pink Candle).  Is your child being helpful at home? The kind deeds that your children are doing is our gift to Jesus on His Birthday.  Helping set the table, helping with the dishes,  making a bed, putting laundry in the dryer or matching socks, are all good deeds and easy chores that your 4/5 can help with. They are so proud to tell the class and add a piece of “straw” to the manger for Baby Jesus.

Literacy: We are busy reviewing letter sounds in Jolly Phonics.  We are also doing phonemic awareness everyday.  Hearing the sounds in words, and taking them apart will be our focus for the next 2 weeks.

Math: Patterning and graphing are a fun way to develop number sense. We do this in calendar time and centers each day

Science/social studies: We will be working with magnets next week and testing our steady hands.

As always, please reach out if you have any questions!

Enjoy the pictures and have a great weekend!
