JK Newsletter January 16, 2026

We hope you are staying warm the snow and cold has returned this week and will next week too!  Please continue to send hats and gloves.  We like to go for walks if it’s above 25 degrees.  Fresh air is so important for us all!

This week the kids have been reviewing classroom rules, and school expectations! We made a class “Oath” together as a class to ring in the new year.  They all signed it and it hangs proudly in our classroom!

Some things to ask you kids:

  • What 2 new letters did we learn this week and what is the sound and motions for them?
  • We celebrated 3 birthdays this week in class who were they?
  • Did you have a snowball fight in the classroom? What was inside the snowballs?
  • Did you make a Bears banner or Hat with your 6th grade buddy today?  How about your Buddy?

Religion: Please mark your calendars, Catholic Schools week is January 25th! Please join us for 10:30 Mass, and then the Open House from 11:30-2:30. Please share with friends and neighbors who are looking for a Preschool,  we love to see new faces!

Stop in our JK room to say “HI” and see what fun things we have been busy doing!   This is also a  perfect opportunity to see all learning that takes place throughout our school.  Be sure to stop and meet Mrs. Mahr in Kindergarten, and see what fun  is ahead.   We always have great things happening around here:)

Literacy:  Next week we will learn the letter sounds and motions for “z” and “w”.

Math: We are doing graphing, patterns, tally marks, and so many number games at calendar and centers each day.

Social Studies: Next week we start our 2 week Arctic unit.  We will learn about a different Arctic animal each day.  The kids are in for a treat!

Have a wonderful 3 day weekend and GO BEARS!
