JK Newsletter March 13, 2025

I hope you had a great week! We had a great week of learning and enjoying outside time! This weather has been amazing, SPRING is in the air….Yay!

So not sure if you heard but we have had some real Shenanigans happening in JK!
We have a leprechaun, Tiny Mc Finn, who has moved into our classroom and has made himself quite cozy. We are so hoping to catch him in our trap this weekend, we will have to wait to see on Monday if it worked!
A few questions for your children:

  • What silly things did the Leprechaun do in our classroom?
  • What do you like best on the playground? Pebble box, slide, fireman pole?
  • What family did we pray for today?

Religion: We are focusing on LENT and prayers for all our wonderful JK Families. Please practice the Our Father with your children at bedtime, you may be surprised at how close they are to knowing it. Each day we pick a new family to pray for. That child comes up and gives us the members to pray for and we all keep that family in our hearts as we pray the Our Father together.

Literature: We have stepped it up in our Phonemic awareness program.  We are now sounding out CVC words, and putting them together.  We have new motions we are still getting used too.  If you get a chance to ask your kids what rhymes with cat for example, they should be able to give a few others that go with it.  CAT- bat, mat, rat, etc. This is a fun game while in the car. or waiting for dinner:)

Math: We will be counting lots of gold coins and shamrocks this next week, and also continuing with teen number recognition.

Science/ Social Studies:  All things Ireland and St. Patrick’s Day.

Have a great weekend!
