Another great week in JK! Lots of learning inside, and playing outside with this gift of beautiful fall weather!
Play is a huge part of development at the JK age. We incorporate play into our day, through centers, recess and free choice time. The life skills of negotiating games and playing well with others are things we want all of our children to understand.
Mark your calendars, and tell the Grandparents… The JK and Preschool Christmas Program is December 20th at 9:30!
Religion: We will continue to to talk about all of God’s blessing and things we are grateful for! The kids have been sharing with us each day! Your kids have huge hearts, you are all so very blessed!
Literacy: Reading to your children is one of best indicators of future reading success! We read books daily in the classroom and hope you are at home as well! We will be learning the letter /b/ and /j/ in Jolly Phonics. So far they have learned the following letters: s,a,t,i,p,n,c,k,e,h,r,n,d,n,g,o,u,f, and l. They are so good at making the motions and sounds for these letters, just ask them:)
Math: We play math games in centers and do daily graphing and and patterns at calendar time.
Social Studies: We will continue to discuss the Pilgrims and the Native Americans, and how Thanksgiving came about.
