JK Newsletter September 6, 2024

Fall Fest is upon us and we are EXCITED! We have been getting many sneak peaks at the rides with our walks around the campus. Thank you so much for your patience with the drop off and pick up this week.  It will be back to normal next week Tuesday when we are back to school!

The Social Emotional well being of our students has been a big focus.  Learning how to share toys, take turns, and include others are just a few components of forming friendships, and a BIG part of our program!

A few questions to ask your kids:

  • Can you sing “Show God’s love to Everyone”?
  • Do you like playing in the pebble box? What toys are in the pebble box?

Religion: This week we learned a new song, “Show God’s Love to Everyone”. We also learned about Saint Teresa of Calcutta.  She was a wonderful example of how she helped all of those in need. Thank you for those who brought in a 4×6 family picture.  Please send one in if you haven’t.  The kids love looking at them on our family board.

Literacy:  We learned the letter sound and motion for “S” this week. Next week we will learn the letter “A”.  We also started Phonemic Awareness this week.  This program is done through listening and repeating back with fun motions.  They are listening for beginning and ending sounds, compound words, and rhyming words to name a few.  We do this each day after calendar.

Math:  We have been playing Chicka chicka number game this week in center time.  We are also learning number rhymes.  They are another fun way of learning how to make our numbers!

We look forward to seeing you at Fall Fest!
