Mid-March News:
This is a friendly reminder that our upcoming field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry is on Thursday of this week! We’re looking forward to an exciting day, and want to ensure your child is prepared. We leave at 8:45am and will return to school around 1:30pm. Please make sure your child is here on time so we can get ready to head to the buses. I suggest eating a large breakfast to hold them over until lunch time.

Please remember the following for the day of the trip:

Students must wear their gym uniform and gym shoes. (We will be doing a lot of walking)
Bring a lunch packed in a brown paper bag or plastic baggy that can be thrown away after use (please no lunchboxes or reusable containers).

Advanced Algebra News:
We have been working hard on exponents. The more practice – the better as you learn to apply the mathematical rules to simplify. We have completed 8.1 and 8.2 thus far and took a quiz.

ELA: We are working on the fifth unit in our high school words. Each week we fill out syn/antonyms, read a story and do a writing assignment, make a locker word and have a summative vocab quiz on Friday.

Social Studies: This week we are finishing up learning about the Vietnam War. We have covered the textbook, went on a National Park (online) tour of the Vietnam Memorial in Wash DC. We also watched a short clip of a war protest from Forrest Gump as we tried to understand how sentiment for the war began to change overtime in America.

We will have stations of the cross on Friday at 2:30pm.
