Here is what is going on in the classroom!
Math: We finally wrapped up our unit 3 quiz on multiplication and division by comparing data and information. We have now begun Unit 4 on using Mental Math and Estimation Strategies. The class told me today, “This is so easy!” Well, that’s because we have seen this in Unit 1 and 2. Make sure to review place value and your multiplication facts at home!
Reading: We will begin our next short novel, Why the Sea is Salty and discuss the emphasis of the vocabulary throughout the story.
Social Studies: All about the Midwest! We have begun to look at the states and their capitals that make up the Midwest! Throughout this unit we will look at the geography, weather and landmarks that make up this territory. We will also challenge ourselves to the first set of capitals by taking our first quiz THIS FRIDAY. To help learn them check out this fun song we do in class! Midwest Song
Religion: We are continuing on Unit 3 which focuses on how our decisions affect others. This has been a great reminder for all to make sure that we think before we speak.
ELA: Our Unit 6 quiz this Friday will be a review of our first 5 quizzes. All the words should be familiar since we have seen them all before! 🙂
