Noticias de noviembre 11/4/24 – 11/8/24

This week, we had so much fun in DLI!

We continued our discussion on Día de los Muertos, finishing our book on the holiday and completing a craft on calaveritas (sugar skulls).  Our students truly enjoy using acuarelas (watercolors). We have also, consistently been practicing our Zoophonics and I am so proud of the progress they have made.

On Tuesday, we held a snack election! Our students faced a tough choice between Fruit Snacks and Goldfish. After voting, Goldfish came out as the winner!

This week, we also started speaking about emociones (emotions) by reading El Monstruo de los Colores. It was so fun to read this book and see how our students can associate a color to an emotion.

One of our students connected with the emotions in the movie Inside Out. We started watching the movie in Spanish.   Lastly, we have started a new prayer in Spanish.

Next week, we will continue practicing our prayer for snack time and also right before we are dismissed. Next week, we’ll be learning about the letter Gg and the sound it makes with each of the five vowels. We’ll also explore the number 9, and our shape of the week will be the star. I’m so excited for the week ahead!
