Dear Families,
We had a wonderful week in Pre-K 4! In DLI (Dual Language Immersion), we’ve been focusing on the important value of respect and we’ll continue to build on this next week too!
We’ve been learning how to be respectful in the classroom, around school, and with our friends. This means using kind words, listening when someone is speaking, and taking care of our learning spaces. We’re also practicing how to take turns, so everyone has a chance to play, share, and participate during activities.
🅸 Letter of the Week: Ii / vocal Ii
This week, we focused on the letra Ii, and had so much fun with related crafts!
🎨 We made:
-
Imelda Iguana
-
Insecto (Insect)
A special shoutout to Charlie O., who lit up during our art time and shared that we were using “verde” (green) watercolors because “iguanas are verde!” 🌿 What a great language connection!
We also had our mexican independence celebration by wearing festive colors, like green, red, and white. We celebrated by having yummy snacks like green grapes, red apples and bananas.
📚 Literacy Fun
We’ve also been building our Pre-K literacy skills by reading a new book every day. After each story, we take time to talk about what happened, what we liked, and what we learned. These conversations help build vocabulary, comprehension, and a love for reading!
