This week in DLI, we learned all about the letter Cc and las vocales. We discovered that three vocales make one sound, while two make another — our students loved practicing and listening carefully to the differences!
We also watched a few fun videos about the letter Cc and learned our new “Letra C” song. To review, we revisited last week’s letter B song and sound, which the children remembered so well!
During centers, we focused on recognizing colors and strengthening our fine motor skills, which are so important at this age. We completed two big crafts this week — Carlos Cabra and C de Cempasúchil — and the students truly enjoyed both!
In Heggerty, we continue practicing our listening and blending skills. I give the students two syllables, and they respond with the complete word — such a great way to build early reading skills! This week’s Heggerty song was “Estrellita, ¿Dónde Estás?”, which quickly became a classroom favorite.
For prayers, we are still working on the final two weeks of El Padre Nuestro before introducing a new prayer soon. We also introduced a new snack prayer, and we just finished our first week reciting it together — they are doing wonderful!
Mrs. Pérez and I are so proud of each student’s hard work and growth. Next week, we will begin learning all about la letra “Ch” and meet our new Zoo-Phonics friend Chano Chango!
¡Estamos muy orgullosas de nuestros estudiantes! 💛
