This was a fun-filled and very busy short week! Our week was all about the letter “Ss” and Dr. Seuss! We had a great time reading many Dr. Seuss books and will continue next week. This was our first discussion of what an author is and how they write books. It was also a great opportunity to identify and create rhyming words. What a perfect place to start…with the famous Dr. Seuss and his silly stories! The snake was our letter craftivity and since we spotted a snake in Jolly Phonics, we were very interested in learning about real snakes. We learned lots of cool facts about snakes and decided that most of us DO NOT like snakes. During the last trimester, we will be doing lots of counting…objects, food, friends in line and toys in our centers. Counting objects to ten is one of our standards and we are going to have tons of fun finding things to count every single day. week, we counted lots of Seuss story objects and giant shamrocks. I wonder what fun Easter things are in store for us to count. This week ended with our Cat in the Hat projects that included our name puzzles! Everyone loved putting together their very own name. Many more name puzzles will be seen in the next couple of months. Next week, we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Monday, finish Dr. Seuss and then begin to focus on Easter:)

*If you haven’t done so, please send in a bag of wrapped Easter candy for our classroom egg hunt by Friday, March 22. I will be filling eggs the weekend of March 23-24 and the egg hunt will take place on Monday, March 25. Our rain date is Wednesday, March 27. Thank you for your generosity!
Thanks to all the parents for attending Parent-Teacher conferences on Thursday. I always look forward to sharing your child’s progress with you, especially after the second trimester. They have all grown so much and I am so proud of each and every one. Also, thank you for your kind words. I love hearing how much your child enjoys coming to school. I hope you all have a fantastic three-day weekend!
