¡Somos Maravillosos! 9/16/24 – 9/20/24

We Are Wonderful!

This week, we kicked off by celebrating Mexican Independence Day! We enjoyed some fun activities, including creating a small book and learning the colors of the Mexican flag.

In religion class, we’re discovering that we are not only unique but also deeply loved by God—Dios nos Ama. Another exciting moment was attending Mass for the first time! It was heartwarming to see how attentive our students were as they learned about their faith.

We’ve also begun practicing our handwriting skills! We’re starting with the basics, like learning how to hold a pencil or crayon, and we’ll build up from there.

For the next two weeks, we will be focusing on respect. Many of our friends are earning their PBIS (Positive Behavior in School) respect tickets! We’ll also be concentrating on the vowel Oo and the colors rosa (pink) and morado (purple). Feel free to dress your child in clothing that matches our colors of the week. In addition, we’ll continue developing our fine and gross motor skills. We will also learn about our families and discuss who the members of our families are (this is where our family mural and family pictures come into play). Our saint of the week will be San Isidoro.

Lastly, we are sending home a color review page. Please work with your student to complete it at home and return it by Monday. The colors we are reviewing are Verde (green), Amarillo (yellow), and Naranja (orange).

Some quick reminders:

  • Please return nap items after the weekend, ensuring they are washed.
  • Make sure water bottles are filled.
  • Labeled snacks are preferred.
  • No school on Friday, September 27th.
