What a great week to be back from break!
This week, we not only had visitors from PK3 families and the University of Notre Dame, we also welcomed our very own classroom parents. We had our very first car show for DLI! We also learned about the letter Jj and about Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe). In our classroom, we have a crochet depiction of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and we created a bulletin board outside our room featuring sun rays made from our students’ handprints.
Another big highlight was the start of the first week of Advent, and we made a wreath in class using our students’ hands. We also made a Christmas chain to count down the days until Christmas. We had our bi-weekly visit with our buddies and we made a Christmas craft.
Our Car Show was a great success – thank you all for your participation and attendance. Our little ones were very excited leading up to today! We spent the past week learning about methods of transportation in fun and interesting ways. The boys were super thrilled and they helped our girls become interested in the project as well. Most importantly, it was the time and dedication invested in completing this project at home.
Frankie A. was this month’s PBIS winner of the week. We are so proud of him!!!
Next week, we will learn about the Letter Kk and the number 12. We will also be attending Mass on Tuesday and Thursday. On Thursday, we will celebrate a special Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. If any of you have a traditional folkloric Mexican shirt, your child may wear it on this special day. Also on this day, if possible (completely optional), please bring una rosa roja (a red rose)! We are very excited to continue working on our Christmas crafts.
