First Grade Fun!

Hi Parents:
Happy “Our Lady of Guadalupe” feast day! Today is the feast day of our Lady, and we started the day out with a beautiful presentation at the Church. It was wonderful to see the children re-enact this beautiful story,
In Religion class, we are studying Advent and the meaning behind the four candles. Our first week was Hope, and our second week is Peace. Our third week is Joy, and the fourth week will be love. We look forward each week to the coming of the baby Jesus on Christmas Day.
In Superkids, we are reading more fluently, and learning to Spell better, too. In English, we have been working with adjectives and writing a story. In Math, we are working with addition and subtraction, and seeing how the two are related. We do related facts to check our work, and it really helps a lot.
We have been making some pretty Christmas projects, and gifts for our families. We also visited the “Holiday Treasures” shop to get gifts for our families and friends for the Holidays.
Tomorrow, December 13th, Student Council is sponsoring a Christmas pajama day. All students can come to school in their Christmas pajamas.

Have a great rest of the week, and always remember, “it’s a great day to be a cardinal. You bet!!”
