Good morning, parents!
Today is the first day of Spring, and we woke up to snow! We will enjoy it, even though we are looking forward to 70* days.
First grade has been working very hard following Christ thru these 40 days of Lent. We have a Lenten calendar we follow, and we try to do better. We are practicing our “Washing of the Feet play” which will be presented on Holy Thursday @ 9:30 am in St. Cletus church.
In math, we are working on place value, and counting to 120. We are in the middle of a math bee, and there are 3 children still competing. In Science, we are talking about plants, and the parts of a plant. In Reading, we are reading some great stories with expression, and doing our best in reading fluently. In Spelling, we are working on contractions. In Language Arts, we are continuing to learn to write sentences and paragraphs.
We are our Spring Auction, “Vegas Nights” on April 5. We hope to see everyone there to have a good time, enjoy a nice dinner, and a little gambling. We love supporting our school, and this is the best way to do it. There are some wonderful prizes being raffled, and we hope for the best. Please join us in this fun evening.
Remember, it’s a great day to be a cardinal, you bet!!!
