Preschool 3-September 21, 2023

Week 5 was another exciting week filled with lots of  fun-filled learning!  We enjoyed the courtyard everyday and continued to learn all about what respect looks like at recess.  Each day, as we pass our PBIS matrices in the hall, we stop to discuss respect, responsibility and compassion and what it looks like at the Preschool level. Our “God Loves Me” self-portraits were completed this week.  A parent letter was sent home explaining the I Am Special religion program.  This letter explains the learning objectives for each chapter. Exploring the Children’s Bible is also part of our program and that began this week.  We started to learn a new letter, Bb, and our alphabet craftivity was a bear.  Next week, we will continue to focus on the letter Bb, practicing this letter in our literacy centers.  Apples was our theme this week and we read lots of books, both fiction and non-fiction.  The numerals 1-5 were fun to learn while playing a new math game…Find the Missing Numeral Worm.  Fall is our theme next week!  We will continue to learn all about apples and go on a leaf hunt.  Our first trip to the school library took place this week with our Buddies.  As you can see by the photos, a great time was had by all.  The Preschool kiddos LOVE their Buddies and we are looking forward to many activities together throughout the school year.  Miss Sonya taught us many new words during our ECLIP class.  Ask your child all about the new language they are learning.  For the past two weeks they have been working on their color words in Spanish.  Our week ended with Grandfriends Mass.  It was such a special day to spend time with all of these special people in our lives.  Thanks to all of the Grandfriends who were able to attend…we love you all:)  Also, for those grandfriends who were unable to attend, we missed you and love you too!
