Half Day News 3.4.22

This week has certainly had its fun!   We are happy to be working with our letters and really catching them quickly when they flash on our Smart Board.   We are continuing to practice letters and still have a few more to go with the alphabet.   When we are writing letters, we are focusing on starting at the top and pulling down ( this is a big deal with little ones, they like the bottom to go first)

We love talking about odd and even numbers when we do our calendar time.   When we line up in two lines, it really helps us to see what odd and even look like.

We celebrated Mardi Gras ( Fat Tuesday) this past Tuesday and enjoyed King Cake and danced to “When the Saints Go Marching In”

Wednesday brought us to church for Ash Wednesday as we begin our Lenten Journey.  We will focus on our time on kindness and “who” we can pray for, especially during Lent.

Friday was fun with our “Mrs. Wishy Washy” story.   We talked about rhyming words in the story and enjoyed our pudding and animal crackers snack.  Ask your child how those two things went together.

Next week we will focus on the letter X.  It will be a short week as there is no school on Friday the 11th.   Have you signed up for Parent / Teacher conferences?   Those will be on Thursday.   Check out the Parent Page for the link to sign up.

Have you secured a sitter and bought your Auction ticket?   “Under the Big Top”  Spring Auction will take place in our Parish Center on April 2nd.   It will be lots of fun and a great time to get to know other parents.   I hope to see you there!

While pictures are slim this week, we were busy and the kids are really enjoying their time at school.

It IS a GREAT Day to be a Cardinal!  (Especially in Half Day preK!)
